Nanko Ume (plums) are famous for their quality; large, soft, fleshy fruit with a small pit. Combined solely with unrefined sugar, matured for 18 months and completely preservative free, the result is a smooth, decadent and pure-tasting plum syrup that has a heady fruit scent and a flavour almost akin to Ume Shu or apricot brandy.
With its hint of tartness, it makes a perfect mixer for cocktails, gives a refreshing, summery lift to non-alcoholic drinks, and can be used to add an extra dimension to jellies, cakes or fruit desserts.
